Biography

John Papas is the Assistant Vice President, Business Effectiveness working in Global Human Resources for Manulife Financial where he leads high profile initiatives such as the global employee engagement survey and performance management program. John provides strategic direction in these initiatives and others within the realm of leadership and learning.

John is a Human Resources Professional with over 15 years of experience in the discipline of talent development and has been recognized for developing and implementing various HR and development programs/strategies.

Very passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community John has volunteered as a mentor with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), Dellcrest Children’s Center as a Teaching Assistant, Habitat for Humanity and the Manulife Walk for Memories supporting fundraising efforts for Alzheimer’s research and patients.

John holds a Honours BA from the University of Toronto and Master’s in Human Resources Management (MHRM) completed at York University and is a certified training and development professional. In his spare time John enjoys the theatre, all genres of music and pop culture, and is suit and tie enthusiast who never needs an occasion to dress-up.
