Julie Giraldi

Julie Giraldi is an accomplished, energetic senior human resources executive and recognized organizational culture turnaround specialist. A valued member of executive teams, Julie has demonstrated expertise in setting and executing winning strategies for people and business needs.

Julie joined the CAAT Pension Plan as Vice President, People and Strategy Development, in 2018. She is accountable for people and culture and is CAAT’s very own “intrapreneur” and leads the organization’s innovation initiatives. Since joining CAAT, she has developed the 2019 – 2021 Strategic Plan, along with the People Strategy.

Prior to joining CAAT Pension Plan, Julie was Vice President, Business Transformation at Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement System (OMERS), where she led and implemented new ideas across the COO platform that drove engagement, creativity, and improved performance. She also acted as President of the newly-established OMERS Foundation.

Prior to joining OMERS, Julie held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President, Health Human Resources Leadership at the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), where she partnered with senior health care leaders on provincial matters ranging from executive compensation, collective bargaining and multi-year health human resources strategies, to data analytics and group benefits. She was also responsible for the OHA’s strategic HR, information technology and eHealth initiatives. Julie’s leadership helped the OHA move from a period of low employee engagement to recording employee engagement scores averaging 98 percent for nine consecutive years.

Julie also served as a Trustee of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan – one of Canada’s most successful pension funds – for six years. Currently, Julie serves on the National Diabetes Trust Board.

Julie has served in senior human resources positions at eHealth Ontario and the Toronto Transit Commission – the largest transit agency in Canada and the second largest in North America.

Julie holds a degree from the University of Toronto, is a Certified Human Resources Executive from the Human Resources Professional Association, and is certified by the Institute of Corporate Directors as an ICD.D.
