Mark Porter joined WestJet in October, 2015 as Executive Vice-President, People and Culture. His arrival at WestJet marks a return to the aviation industry. Prior to transitioning to a role in human resources, Mark worked at Bombardier as an aircraft engineer.
Prior to landing at WestJet, Mark’s career included roles at a variety of Canadian companies including Molson and Shaw Communications. As Chief People Officer at Molson Canada he played a key role as human resources representative in the Molson Coors merger. In addition, he spent almost a decade as senior vice-president of human resources with Shaw Communications. While he is proud of his professional accomplishments, which he credits to the people surrounding him, he is honoured to sit on the volunteer board for Outward Bound Canada, helping underprivileged kids with self-development, leadership and unlocking their true potential.
Mark’s favourite WestJet destination is Dublin, Ireland.
