Melissa Morrow

In addition to being a long standing CPHR, Melissa Morrow brings 20+ years of HR professional experience to her current role as Vice President, Human Resources for the Trico Group. Trico is a multi-award-winning Calgary homebuilder and developer, with projects spanning across residential and commercial properties, purpose-built rentals and older adult communities. Founded by Order of Canada recipient Wayne Chiu, Trico is a dream organization for an HR leader, having been recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures™ by Waterstone Human Capital’s Board of Governors in addition to other prestigious awards such as Best Workplaces in Canada™ and Canada’s Best Managed Companies, further acknowledging its strong culture.

Melissa’s passion lies in helping organizations and leaders navigate dynamic and complex human resource challenges to improve the organization’s effectiveness and resilience.  She is most energized when helping leaders gain clarity to the real issue that needs to be solved first in order to take meaningful action.  As an HR leader, there is nothing she enjoys more than rolling up her sleeves and partnering with businesses to address challenges in a creative, efficient and sustainable way. In her experience, almost all solutions begin with building and maintaining a strong corporate culture.

Having spent many years helping leaders at all levels of the organization achieve their potential, Melissa recently obtained her Executive Coach certification from Royal Roads University and her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification through the International Coach Federation (ICF). This has further enabled her to coach and partner with leaders, helping both them and their organizations achieve their full potential.

When she’s not working or coaching, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors with her two teenage boys and staying active on one of the many hiking and biking trails in the city and nearby mountains.
