Michael Brown

Michael Brown is the President & CEO of Trico Residential, one of Calgary’s largest homebuilders. He has an impressive track record of leadership roles in high-profile projects, starting with his time at Calgary Economic Development in 2001. In his most significant accomplishments, he served as the President and CEO of the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation from 2011 to 2020, where he helped shape Calgary’s skyline and transformed East Village and Victoria Park into vibrant communities. In 2023, Michael was honored with the prestigious Business in Calgary Leaders Award for his outstanding contributions to the business community.

Michael took on a new challenge at Trico Homes in 2020, where he leads the vision to build a better community by leveraging his extensive experience and expertise towards the organization’s mission: balancing purpose with profit.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Michael is an active volunteer and community leader, serving on several boards, including the Calgary Stampede and as past Chair of Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund. He also advises Bow Valley College’s Chiu School of Business. Michael has a BA in Political Science from the University of Calgary and completed the Directors Program at ICD, University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business in 2020.
