Donald E. Clow

Donald E. Clow has been President and CEO of Crombie REIT since 2009. Crombie REIT is a Real Estate Investment Trust that invests in real estate that enriches local communities and enables long-term sustainable growth. As one of the country’s leading owners, operators, and developers of quality real estate, Crombie’s portfolio primarily includes grocery-anchored retail, retail-related industrial, and mixed-use residential properties in Canada’s top urban and suburban markets. Crombie currently owns a portfolio of 290 income-producing properties comprising approximately 18.3 million square feet with a fair value of approximately $5.9 billion and a market capitalization of approximately $2.6 billion. Additionally, Crombie has a mixed-use development pipeline of approximately $5.0 to $6.8 billion. Prior to joining Crombie REIT, Mr. Clow held the position of President, ECL Developments Ltd, the real estate development subsidiary of Empire Company Ltd. Before Empire he was President of Southwest Properties Ltd., a residential and commercial real estate development company in Halifax.

Mr. Clow graduated from Acadia University with a BBA, earned his CA designation with KPMG and was designated a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2002. In addition to leadership programs at the Harvard Business School and the Ivey School of Business, he is a graduate of the DEP at the Rotman School of Business and a member of WPO, CEO and the Business Council of Canada. Mr. Clow has been inducted into Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs Hall of Fame. Mr. Clow was a member of Acadia University’s Board of Governors from 2012 to 2021 and is a Director on the Board of the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
