Phillip Kotandis

Phillip Kotanidis is Executive Vice President, Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), where he provides senior leadership across Human Resources, Communications, Facilities, Occupational Health and Safety and Wellness, Volunteer Services, Equity, Engineering, and Support Services.

Phillip holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University, as well as a Post-Graduate Human Resources Management Diploma. With more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources, he has built a career dedicated to advancing workplace safety, employee potential, and organizational effectiveness.

His leadership has helped strengthen MGH’s people, safety, wellness, and support-service infrastructure while advancing a workplace culture grounded in inclusion, engagement, and respect.

During his more than 20 years with MGH, he has progressed through increasingly senior leadership roles, including Manager of Human Resources, Labour and Employee Relations; Director of Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Organizational Development, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Wellness and Volunteer Services; and currently Executive Vice President, Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer. In his current role, he also oversees supportive, non-clinical services, including Facilities, Engineering, Environmental and Food Services, Portering, Security, and Corporate Communications.

Before joining MGH, Phillip worked at University Health Network (UHN) in Labour and Employee Relations. He continues to work closely with the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), supporting provincial Human Resources and labour relations matters, including as a recurring key member of the OHA/Ontario Nurses Association (ONA) provincial bargaining committee. He also partners with colleagues across the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) to help develop and expand Human Resources best practices across health care.
