Elaine Shantz

Elaine Shantz is a leader in not-for-profit, older adult living. Under her tenure, Fairview Parkwood Craigwiel Communities has built and unleashed capacity resulting in significant expansion:

• Expanded Fairview’s LTC Home from 84 to 192 beds (2026)
• Completing construction on a new LTC Home at Craigwiel Gardens (Fall 2026)
• Awarded Community Access to Long-Term Care pilot project by the Ministry of LTC (2026)
• Awarded Nursing Home Without Walls pilot project by AdvantAge Ontario (2026)
• Unified with a third campus, Craigwiel Gardens (2025)
• Constructed the 99-unit Martin Apartments builds at Parkwood with affordable housing (2024)
• Earned recognition as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures (Waterstone, 2022-2026)
• Received Exemplary Standing with Accreditation Canada for Fairview Mennonite Homes and Parkwood Mennonite Home Inc. (Nov. 2023).
• Launched (2020) and expanded (2024) Living Classrooms for PSWs in partnership with Waterloo Catholic School Board
• Launched (2019) and expanded (2020) Home and Community Care Support Services

Elaine’s previous roles were in the private sector, serving as President of peopleCare Inc., and in progressive roles with Schlegel Villages and the Mennonite Savings and Credit Union (Kindred). Elaine earned her MA in Leadership at the University of Guelph.
