Jacquelin Weatherbee

As a member of the executive team at Sobeys Inc., Jacquelin has played a pivotal role in strengthening the Sobeys brand, both internally and externally, through proactive and strategic storytelling. Jacquelin joined the company in 2015 and was integral to the company’s successful Project Sunrise communications, a transformational initiative to simplify business, unlock national scale, and reduce costs.

As a key strategist leading Sobeys Inc.’s government relations efforts, Jacquelin has been the architect of communications campaigns supporting crucial enterprise-wide priorities, including the release of Empire’s proposed Grocery Supply Code of Practice, in partnership with the FHCP. She also led the communications efforts to launch the grocer’s e-commerce platform, Voilà by Sobeys; and the launch of Sobeys’ sustainability strategy. Jacquelin and her team have also led the organization’s response, communications planning and employee engagement strategies to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining Sobeys, Jacquelin worked in marketing, advocacy, and communications for the Certified Professional Accountants of Ontario. Jacquelin has been active in public service, spending her free time supporting political campaigns, as well as volunteering with organizations focused on community building and excellence in journalism. She currently serves as a trustee on the board of Strong Minds Strong Kids Psychology Canada. Jacquelin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology (Honours) from the University of Toronto and has a Post Graduate Public Relations Diploma from Humber College.
